I first began my career when I was a young lad - I picked up a piece of timber, created something from it, and then I took on woodwork at school. I worked as an apprentice cabinet maker for an antique dealer in Great Yarmouth and the love of antique furniture began!
After eight years there I worked for Tobel Reproductions - a subsidiary of Arthur Brett and Sons. They specialised in reproducing antique period furniture with a modern function and I worked there, before taking charge of the oak section at the company, which made tables, dressers, chairs and sideboards.
I then began working on one-off pieces before starting my own business so that I could pass on my expertise on the subject of antique furniture directly to clients.
